Supported Employment: Making the CASE for Business and Community
This facilitated session by a Supported Employment professional will give participants a clear understanding of the models of Supported Employment used in Canada, a brief history of the development of Supported Employment and an the introduction of a clear business case for the inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
Participants will also be shown examples of successful employment in many different settings, clearly outlining processes and how to avoid pitfalls.
A clear economic model exists for the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the workforce. Businesses need support to understand how to include individuals with disabilities in the workforce. Diversity is the key. Learn how to include diversity in your business and community development plans.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from Mr. Dave Fischl, who has helped the government of Saskatchewan implement a more open inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Dave will show how through a process of understanding and partnership individuals with disabilities can make a career in the provincial government.
Included as a special keynote for the event will be an address to participants by Rosario Marin, the 41st Treasurer of the United States of America.
